Terms of use
The rules for using Short Turtle, in plain words. By using Short Turtle you agree to them. Version 2026-10-27.
Your account
- One account per person. Having more than one Short Turtle account is against these terms unless we've given you written permission (an exception). Business teams are one account with several people on it.
- Short Turtle is invite-only. New accounts are for people in the United States.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens in your account, including anything made with your API keys or connected apps.
- We may freeze an account to protect it (for example, after a suspicious email change). Links keep working while an account is frozen.
Links and what they point to
- Every link goes through our safety checks and must point to an allowed site. No scams, phishing, malware, spam, adult content, or links that pretend to be someone else.
- We may review, pause, limit or turn off links and accounts that break these rules, without notice.
- Your links don't stop when you stop paying. A link with no visits, scans, taps or edits for 183 days (over 6 months) stops working. We email you before that, and one click keeps it.
Plans and billing
- Paid plans are billed through Stripe, monthly or yearly. Short Turtle never sees your card number.
- When you upgrade, you're charged the difference for the rest of your billing period right away. When you move to a smaller plan, the difference is credited to your next bill.
- You can cancel any time from Plan and billing. You keep your plan until the end of the period you paid for.
- Chargebacks: if you dispute a Short Turtle charge with your bank or card company, your plan moves to Free right away and your subscription is canceled. Your links keep working. Questions about a charge? Email support@shortturtle.us first and we'll sort it out.
Referrals
- Members can share a referral link. Sign-ups through it are credited to them.
- Self-referrals are against these terms. That includes referring another account or email address you control. Payouts for self-referrals are denied.
- Payouts are denied to members who have more than one account without our written permission.
- Referral program details are coming soon.
Privacy
- We collect what we need to run the service: your account details, your links and their visit counts. Visitors to your links are counted without cookies.
- Our own web pages use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity (which uses cookies) to see how people use the site, such as which pages they visit and where they click and scroll. Clarity never sees what you type into forms, and on signed-in pages it sees no text at all. Short links themselves are never tracked this way.
- We don't sell your information.
